The end is just the beginning...

So we woke this morning to a warm sunny day at camp in Coleman Falls, VA. Strewn about the area were half consumed beer cans, bottles of "local spirits" and an empty can of cheez whiz. Dad and I did not contribute to any of this but I helped police it up.

Here you can see Dad ready to pack his bike down on the end

I was planning on sleeping out another night but eventually decided a cool shower and my own bed sounded too nice to pass up. I wound up leading a 100+ mi street ride while Dad rode back to town with a fellow rider friend.

Here is a pic or two from my ride. Along the Maury River

Then finally made my way back to Harrisonburg...

Hooray! Home SWEET HOME!!!

Dad and I went out to the Texas Roadhouse and celebrated our safe and triumphant 2000+ mile journey of father and son.

Over dinner we discussed things we could do to improve our future trips. We both share a love of motorcycling but have somewhat different views on how to go about enjoying the day. This trip saw days with few miles, and some with over 350. We both got our way and ended the journey with smiles on our faces and a full belly. A special thanks to all our family members who were gracious and understanding when we came knocking on the door.

Till the next father/son adventure...
